Les Forces Majeures' particular DNA is a commitment both to transmission and to environmental responsibility.  These are the values which brought the collective's musicians together, and they imply a specific vision of the role of an orchestra within a region or a community. Hence the original nature of our residency projects.

TRANSMISSION

Founded in order to use music to link together a collective, a region and its population, Les Forces Majeures have been committed to transmission from the outset in 2014.

This means concerts and outreach projects in classrooms.  It also means bringing children onto the concert platform to experience the orchestra from within.

As an ensemble of well-known chamber music groups, Les Forces Majeures can organise a starburst of small-scale concerts around a residency.

ECOLOGY

It was during a residency at the Vichy Opera that Les Forces Majeures launched the wild idea of a tour from Vichy to Clermond-Ferrand ... on bikes !

Four mini-concerts to mark the four 20-kilometre milestones of this musical bike-ride: festivities with a social message.

Les Forces Majeures use this form of musical happening to speak out as citizens, in a non-dramatic but forceful way, about the social and environmental challenges of our times.

This orchestra harnesses the power of music to demonstrate its eco-responsible attitude in a warm and friendly manner.  Musicians and audience join to together to grapple with the challenges of ecological transition and conversion to green energy.

It is this powerful collective spirit which enables Les Forces Majeures to combine the solidarity and wandering life of a circus troupe with the open-mindedness and rich humanity of a theatrical company.

In our upcoming seasons, the peloton of Les Forces Majeures will be travelling to other regions in France to share the joy of our music, along with a powerful message.
